Michelle Tovar

Michelle grew up in Ft. Pierce, FL and graduated from Lincoln Park Academy. While attending Indian River Community College, she was a member and team captain of the National Championship Swimming & Diving Team. Michelle graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion. During her 7 year career in Corporate Wellness, she worked for large corporations like Motorola and Florida Power & Light to educate and empower employees to make healthy, life sustainable choices. As a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, Exercise Testing Specialist, and Traveling Health Promotion Educator, Michelle was able to reach out to men, women & children across the U.S. In 2006, Michelle had a life-changing opportunity to become a teacher. Employed by the St. Lucie County School Board, Michelle taught multiple subjects to Middle/High School students. She currently has her Educator Certificate in Florida for Biology and Integrated Curriculum & is also Reading Endorsed. Her love of triathlon began in late 2002 completing her first sprint distance tri. Since then, she has completed multiple 1/2 Iron Distance events, 4 Ironman races, and numerous local Sprint & Olympic Triathlons, as well as multiple 1/2 Marathons and the Disney Marathon. She has coached various athletes ranging from youth to adult. She has worked with multiple Ironman finishers on courses including Wisconsin, Lake Placid, Florida, Texas and many others. In 2011, Michelle completed the Race Across America (RAAM), dubbed the toughest cycling race in the world, with a 4-person women’s team. Michelle is married with two children & resides in Port St. Lucie. She shares her passion for triathlon, outdoor activities and CrossFit with her family. She believes that everything happens for a reason and positivity will get you through anything. Carpe Diem!
