At just 21, Matthew is an ambitious young cyclist and up and coming coach. Since beginning cycling at 13 he has logged tens of thousands of training miles and had the opportunity to work with a wide range of experienced coaches including ex-professional cyclist Tyler Hamilton. Matthew currently balances his demanding training schedule with college classes at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he is pursuing a degree in exercise science.
So what can such a young coach do for me?
Unlike other coaches who might have learned the trade primarily from a book or a classroom, Matthew has first hand experience racing at all levels of cycling in the United States including big national races with some of the country’s top professional athletes. In addition, his busy schedule gives him a realistic perspective on what it takes to balance elite athletics and real life responsibilities! Finally, taking up the sport at such a young age himself gives Matthew the unique experience necessary to develop plans for other young budding athletes.
Matthew has yet to put on a training camp, but if he can build his client base he would love to put together some guided trips to some of his favorite riding locations across the west coast and southwest.
