Coaching Philosophy:
I believe that success in triathlon is the result of optimal balance of volume, intensity, strength, and recovery. My coaching places a large emphasis building a strong aerobic foundation and complementing it with strength and anaerobic power for optimal performance on race day. I am a proponent of polarized training, meaning lots of relatively easy aerobic volume and very high intensity intervals, with very little in between.

As a student in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, I believe injury prevention and applied strength training is an integral portion of any training plan. This maximizes an athletes potential, while reducing the risk of overtraining and injury throughout the triathlon training process.

In addition to coaching age group athletes at all distances of triathlon, I am the coach of the Maryland Triathlon Team at the University of Maryland, and an assistant coach of the Mini Cow Triathlon Club. This has given me an opportunity to work with and achieve success with athletes of all abilities, from youth and juniors to collegiate and age group triathletes.
