John’s coaching philosophy is one that maximizes the potential of the athlete while respecting their priorities. As a husband and father of three, he understands training, racing, and recovery must all be done within the allowances of busy lives. Family, career, faith and other priorities are taken into consideration when asking an athlete to dedicate themselves to short term training sessions and season or career long goals. Coach John is passionate about learning and shares wisdoms and insights learned through his own experiences as well as the numerous studies and publications he reads each week.
Coach John’s focus is on athletes who want to challenge themselves to racing the 70.3 or Ironman distance or looking to improve their finishes at sprint and Olympic races. Obtaining these goals is accomplished through execution of highly efficient training plans that maximize an athlete’s performance while providing measured recovery to reduce the risk of injuries. Coach John values building relationships with each athlete he coaches and utilizing those relationship to provide athletes the best coaching experience possible.
